Management Team

  • General Manager
    Greg Richardson, CCM
With 600 members to look after, more than 70 employees, multi-million dollar budgets, constant change, and an endless workday during the summer months, it’s a wonder anyone would want to be a General Manager of a golf club. Carleton has found that talent in Greg Richardson, who has filled those big shoes for 7 years and counting. Greg’s dedication and service to the club are reflected in all the improvements the club has seen during his tenure. He has most recently attained his Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation, one of only 22 in Canada and the only one in Eastern Ontario! Greg is also active on the National Board of the Canadian Society of Club Managers.

  • Superintendent
    Joel Trickey
Carleton is fortunate to have one of the region’s best Green-keepers, Joel Trickey, working his magic on the course over the past 13 years. Joel sets very high standards for his team and their work, which shows up in spades. No matter what the weatherman throws at him, Joel always stays calm and seems to be able to make the best of it. The low turnover amongst his staff also shows the respect that he has earned from his employees, and the great work environment he creates. As a Past President of the Ottawa Valley Turf-grass Association, Joel is also dedicated to research on turf health, and acts as a steward of the golf course as part of the local environment.

  • Head Professional
    Gord Percy, CPGA
With 10 years as an ‘A’ Class Professional with the Canadian Professional Golfer’s Association, Gord Percy has developed a wide variety of skills and strengths that he uses to lead his staff at Carleton to provide superior service to our members! Whether he is advising members on the best irons suited to their game, or consulting on professional management of leagues and events, or managing our Pro Shop merchandise to meet & beat the quality and pricing of off-course retailers, Gord has quickly become a valued part of the Carleton family in this his third year. His teaching skills are second to none as well, as honoured with his CPGA Ottawa Zone Teacher of the Year Award in 2004.

  • Clubhouse Manager
    Laurie O’Brien
Since 2005 Carleton members, clubhouse staff and guests have enjoyed dedicated, energetic and friendly service from Laurie O’Brien! Not only does Laurie professionally plan, organize and supervise all of our Food & Beverage activities at Carleton, she takes care of everyone like they are family. Her background in hotel management in the Maritimes, where she received certification as a Tourism Food & Beverage Manager, has enabled Carleton to raise service standards, and expand our services to include cleaning and laundry. The high level of detail she expects is exuded in all aspects of our operation, and also shows in her sensitive, compassionate interaction with our members, her staff and banquet clients.
